Flavor Description
Cau Dat is one of the most discussed names in Vietnamese specialty Arabica. This washed Typica shows pomelo blossom, sweet orange, yellow sugar, and a refined black-tea finish. The body is light, the acidity is clean without sharpness, and the overall style suits drinkers who prefer classic clarity in pour-over coffee.
Why It Matters
Compared with the more common Catimor in Vietnam, Typica is rare in Cau Dat but highly convincing when done well. It reveals the transparency possible from Lam Dong's cool high-altitude climate and broadens the image of Vietnamese specialty Arabica.
Brewing Notes
- Pour-over: 91–92°C water, ratio 1:16
- Tip: Use a slower bloom and lower agitation to extend the tea-like finish and floral clarity
