Flavor Description

A stunning Vietnamese Arabica. Unlike the common Catimor, this Bourbon variety offers delicate floral and tropical fruit layers. Expect ripe pineapple and golden berry acidity, transitioning into soft floral honey and caramel with a clean, lingering finish.

Origin Highlight

Hon Ba was pioneered by scientist Alexandre Yersin, who introduced coffee trees to the region. This rare Bourbon grows under forest shade with very low yields, making it one of Vietnam's most promising micro-regions.

Brewing Notes

  • Pour-over: 91°C water. A slightly finer grind captures the variety's inherent sweetness. Berry fermentation notes become more pronounced as the cup cools.
  • Tip: With a profile closer to Central American specialty lots, this bean is a true stereotype-breaker.
