Flavor Description

Kerinci has become one of the most active names in Indonesia’s specialty scene. This honey lot shows lemongrass, sweet orange, cane juice, and a light cinnamon note. It feels lighter than traditional Mandheling styles, yet still keeps some of Sumatra’s familiar body and herbal base. The sweetness is clean and the structure is lively.

Why It Matters

Compared with older wet-hulled Sumatran regions, Kerinci often represents a "new Sumatra" profile: high altitude, cooperative management, traceability, and more refined processing. That means Indonesian coffee here is not only about heavy herbal depth, but also about clearer fruit-driven sweetness.

Brewing Notes

  • Pour-over: Medium-fine grind, water temperature 90–91°C, ratio 1:15.5
  • Tip: Slightly increase early agitation to open the citrus and spice layers faster
