Flavor Description
Lekempti naturals are often compared to Harrar: the same blueberry and dried-fruit aromatics, but with tamer wineyness and wildness, a rounder mouthfeel, cocoa and light cinnamon spice in the middle, and a sweet, heavy finish.
Buying Tips
- Region: Lekempti is the traditional trading name for the Wollega area; bags may also say "Nekemte" or "Wollega"
- Grade: Mostly G4–G5, though cooperatives have recently released higher-grade selections
Brewing Notes
- French press: Medium-coarse grind, 93°C, 4-minute steep
- Pour-over: For medium roasts, 90°C at 1:15 balances fruit and chocolate
